About Rie

Rie Butler is a huge advocate for self compassion as she knows through personal experience that once you find and nurture it only then can you begin to heal on all levels.

Her experience includes working with an accredited program in Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy and Learning, and having spent many hours with this therapy herd of horses, has developed a belief that horses have much to teach us and have a profound capacity to heal the human heart.

It is a strong felt belief that her Spiritual guides have led her on this path to do this transformative work. A mission where she can honor and partner with horses as being the true gift to her clients.

She is a graduate of The Touched By a Horse® Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® Certification Program. This two year comprehensive program includes over 400 hours of intensive Hands on Core weekends as well as private coaching sessions, a written exam and continuing education requirements.

She has been blessed to have many horses impact her life over the years and currently owns a colt that has touched her heart - a horse she knows is willing and capable of helping her clients to achieve an inner peace and establish true self compassion.

Rie operates her retreats out of several beautiful farms across the United States to implement her work with women who are wanting to remove their blocks and negative inner chatter so that they too can move forward in their own lives of purpose.

Additionally, Rie is an avid Yogi. She received her 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification in 2011 and often incorporates a gentle yoga practice in her retreats.

Gestalt means whole. That we all have within us the answers to the parts of self that are stuck and need to be released in order to live a fulfilled life. The answers to those inner voices that have such a way of sabotaging our thoughts.

The EGCMethod®
The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client's exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine's interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.

The Compassionate Equestrian
Compassion becomes the foundation for all decisions that an equestrian makes with every choice for their horse, for all people involved in the equine community, as well as the global community. Through choosing compassion as the common ground for all decisions, equestrians can become a movement for creating a kinder, happier, healthier, more compassionate world. Click here for the Principals of Compassionate Equitation [pdf].
